London
In 1989, our band was selected by the Pentagon to represent
the United States at the 40th Anniversary of the North
Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). The band played in
the Royal Tournament in London, England, with the massed
band of the Royal Air Force and bands from nine other
NATO countries including the Netherlands, Turkey, Italy
and Canada. |

Italy
In 1992, our band toured Italy by invitation of the US
Ambassador. We played in several cities including a performance
on the Soanish Steps in Rome. |

Trinidad
& Tobago
In 1993, we played a tour in the countries of Trinidad
and Tobago, a pair of islands in the Carribean. Concerts
included a gala 4th of July celebration at the American
Embassy there. |

Australia
In 1994, at the request of the State Department, we traveled
all the way "down under" to Australia. While
there, we participated in festivities commemorating the
World War II battle of the Coral Sea. |

UP
& Mackinac Island
In the summers of 1995 and 2003, we remained at home performing
one of our favorite missions, entertaining the people
from our home state. |

Latvia
In the summers of 1996, 1998 and 2001, responding to an
invitation of the US Ambassador to Latvia, we boarded
a C-130 Hercules and headed to Riga, Latvia. While there,
we had the privilege of playing combined concerts with
both the Latvian National Guard Band and the Latvian Navy
Band. During the 1998 trip, the band participated in the
Pass in Review for the Baltic Challenge, a military excercise
that included units from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and
the United States. Our 2001 trip commemorated the 800th
Anniversary of Riga, the capital of Latvia. |

Alaska
During the summer of 1999, we traveled to Alaska to assume
the duties of the 9th Army Band stationed in Fairbanks. |

Grayling
As part of our Annual Training, every year we head up
to Grayling, Michigan, to perform for our Adjutant General
and our Governor in the Pass in Review. Occasionally,
we also play concerts for the people of Grayling and other
surrounding cities. |

Fort
Custer
A few days of our Annual Training are spent at Fort Custer, in Augusta,
Michigan. While there, we qualify on the M-16 rifle and participate in
various team building excercises, such as rappelling and the obstacle
course. |
